Terry Bellamy

An experienced transportation executive possessing over 30 years as a dynamic, action-oriented transportation executive offering a rich history of success leading change, managing turnaround initiatives, and restructuring city infrastructure for sustainable growth. An advocate for implementing innovative multimodal transportation, green planning solutions, and innovative economic development using best practices, with proven expertise as an industry leader in revitalizing troubled communities. A skilled and confident public speaker with experience in public meetings and legislative hearings; and 25-plus years of diverse public policy experience, including human services, transportation, public works, capital construction, and project management.

A native of Charlotte, Bellamy is a North Carolina A&T State University graduate and holds a master’s in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University. He has completed several professional development studies, including the Certified Public Administrator program from George Washington University, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, and the Executive Transportation Engineering Program at Pennsylvania State University.

James Cheek

James Cheeks is an accomplished transportation professional with a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering Science (Civil Engineering) from Dartmouth College, and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. Cheeks has completed a variety of professional courses, including those offered by the Federal Highway Administration FHWA) and the Institute of Traffic Engineers (ITE) Traffic Engineering Academy at Northwestern University. He has held various leadership roles in transportation including Deputy Associate Director (Chief Traffic Engineer) with District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and Vice President/Regional Manager for Grice & Associates, Inc.

Currently, he is the President of Cheeks Diversified Services, a consulting firm providing project management and coordination services to City, County, and State Governments in Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, Transit, Highway-Rail Grade Crossings, and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
